Jim Hennesy, Pastor

With 28 years of pastoral ministry, Jim leads Trinity Ministries into its finest hour as primary presenter of the preaching/ teaching ministry and primary steward of Trinity’s vision.  He also serves the city of Cedar Hill as a coordinator of Transformation Cedar Hill, a coalition of business, education, government and churches committed to see God’s principles enacted into the fiber and relationships of the community.

Jim focuses his ministry around the Presence and Testimony of Jesus (Substance of God), and strongly encourages the church to live in supernatural participation with the Holy Spirit.

Jim came to Trinity Church in November 1994 from St. Petersburg, FL where he served for 9 ½ years.  He is a graduate of Central Bible College, Springfield MO. Jim and his wife Becky, have three children Ross, who is married; Ryan, a graduate of Southwestern University; and Katlyn a student at Trinity Christian School.


Becky Hennesy, Director Womens Ministry

Becky is a gifted teacher and minister. She communicates from her heart clearly and effectively and is presently serving as Director of Women’s Ministry. Under her leadership quarterly meetings called “Girlfriends” have grown from approximately 250 to over 600 in attendance in 18 months.  “Women of Worth” Women’s Ministry clearly broadcasts a message of hope, crossing generations and cultures.

Pastor Becky gives much attention to establishing practical, innovative ways to bless single parent families.  Women of Worth Ministries began sponsoring home one-room makeovers for single mothers on Mother’s Day in 2002. The ministry has grown and recently just completed a renovation of an entire home for a single mother.

Becky’s passion is to create a safe place for women to grow, for women to hear and learn about God’s fantastic will and plan for each individual woman.  Her mission: Women of Worth would be a vehicle of transformation in our community, the marketplace and beyond as we embrace women from all walks of life. Living by a mandate of action to help women realize their value, purpose and destiny in God’s master plan.

Jim and Becky have three children:  Ross, wed to Angela, Ryan, a recent graduate of SAGU and Katlyn, “Katee”, a high school student at Trinity Christian School.


Tim Ferguson, Executive Pastor

As Executive Pastor of Trinity Church, Tim Ferguson oversees the ministries of the church, leading the Directors and Pastors in executing plans and programs that support the Vision and Core Values of the church...a true passion in his life! Prior to serving as Executive Pastor, he served as the youth pastor at Trinity Church for ten years.

In addition to his responsibilities at Trinity Church, Tim coaches the Varsity Boys Basketball team of Trinity Christian School.  This coaching skill has been developed over years of coaching and playing basketball.

Tim and his wife Michelle have been married for eighteen years.  They have three children.


Shelia Hood, Administrator

Shelia directs the business operations of Trinity Church, overseeing Financial operations, Facility construction, operation, and maintenance, Human Resource activities, Communications, Information Technology and Asset Protection.  Shelia also acts as Liaison with the community in Marketplace Ministry activities serving on the Executive Board of the Cedar Hill Chamber of Commerce and as board member for Transformation Vision Cedar Hill. 

Shelia brings 24 years experience in the corporate arena to Trinity where she was responsible for managing multi-million dollar capital expenses, and budgeting as well as directing procedures and operations for Human Resources and Facilities.  In 1995 she felt the call of God to transition to Trinity Church to serve as the Administrator.  Shelia believes all of her previous business training and experience was merely preparation for being a part of God’s plan to take Trinity Church and the community “Beyond the Dream”. 

Shelia and Jim Hood (she always calls him by his full name) have been married for 18 years, have four children and live in Duncanville with an ever changing menagerie of animals.


DIRECTORS

Benji Allen, Director Children's Ministries

As the Director of Children’s Ministry, Pastor Benji is responsible for overseeing the spiritual development of children, nursery – 5th grade. To accomplish this effort he leads and trains a volunteer group of over 200 adults on a weekly basis. Benji’s passion is to develop and empower leaders to serve the children and families within the local community and beyond.

A graduate of SAGU and Ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, Benji serves a number of organizations that are committed to Children’s Ministry. He is part of the pioneer team that created Character Connex, a National Public school program and speaks in a number of leadership and children’s ministry capacities. Benji’s greatest call to fame is the husband of Lori Allen and dad to Hailey, Brayden and Addison. Benji & Lori have served the Trinity body since 2004.

When you meet Benji you will not deny his joy for life and passion for the family. He has a history of doing some really crazy things for Missions and kids. They have included dying his hair purple, living on top of a 50’ scissor lift for 8 days raising just over $40,000 and most recently running in the Walt Disney marathon in just over 5 hours.


Carlos Ortiz, Director Student Ministries

Pastor Carlos is the Director of Student Ministries at Trinity church.  Toghether with his staff, he oversees  the Junior High, High School, College and Master's Commission ministries.  He and his wife Libby, have a passion to see young people grow into spiritual maturity and develop the heart of a true disciple.  Pastor Carlos is the preaching pastor for Wednesday night services and Libby is the administrator of South Dallas Master's Commission.

Carlos graduated with honors from SAGU and is a graduate of Master's Commission.  A native of the Dallas area, Pastor Carlos met Libby (born and raised in Iowa) while they were both on a missions trip to New Orleans' Mardi Gras in 1999.  After they married in March of 2000 the Ortiz family enlarged by adding Carlos (5), Isabella (3) and Ava (July 16, 2006). 

It's very important to note that the Ortiz family are all big Michigan Wolverine fans and should own stock in the Chipotle food chain.


Brenda Thompson-Haney, Director Fine Arts

Brenda joined the Trinity staff in 2002 as the Director of Fine Arts. She is responsible for overseeing the music ministries, directing the Sunday morning choir, and leading worship. Her desire is to bring together people from all walks of life to a common place of worship every Sunday and to excel the kingdom of God through uniting people’s gifts and talents through music ministry.

Receiving the call to music and worship while in college, she was music and youth pastor in Arkansas while completing her Bachelor’s in Marketing from Southern Arkansas University, and MBA from Louisiana Tech University.  Since then, she’s been involved in directing youth choirs, worship events, and conferences. For the past eight years, she has taught business administration at Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie Texas. Pursuing both worship and education has been a fulfilling path.

In June 06, Brenda and her husband Todd welcomed their first child, Camden Wade.


Kathy Watts, Superintendent Trinity Christian School

As Superintendent of Trinity Christian School, Mrs. Watts coordinates, develops and implements programs that support the vision of the church and school ministry. Her passion is to see young people love God, be trained in their gifts and talents, and be outstanding Christian leaders in society.

Mrs. Watts attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ, for her Bachelor’s Degree and earned her Master’s Degree in Education and Administration from Oral Roberts University. She has completed all of her coursework and comprehensive exams for her Ed.D from ORU and is currently completing her dissertation. Mrs. Watts was on the faculty of TCS when it opened its doors in 1981. Through the years she has served as teacher and also as principal at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels from 1981 until 1994. She returned to TCS in 2002 to serve as school superintendent.

Kathy and her husband of 39 years, Clay, have four married children and eight grandchildren.


PASTORAL STAFF

Buddy Flowers, Minister "Bridgepoint Ministries" (40s-50s)

As the Pastor of BridgePoint Ministry, Buddy Flowers oversees the flow of pastoral care, Smallgroup, fellowship and discipleship ministry to the 40's & 50's of Trinity Church. 

Before becoming Pastor of BridgePoint Ministry, Buddy served as a youth pastor for nine years at Trinity Church, a senior pastor in Austin, Texas for ten years, as well as executive pastor in Red Oak, Texas and Pensacola, Florida.  Buddy graduated from Southwestern Assembly of God University in 1981 with a degree in Pastoral Ministry. 

Buddy and his wife Vickie have been married for twenty-seven years and have two children Misty & Amy.


James Hennesy, Minister "Saints Alive" (60s+)

As pastor and evangelist for more than forty years, Doctor Hennesy has a unique gifting to minister to those who suffer.  He has great compassion and love for people.  He and wife, Margie oversee the Senior Adults serving as teacher, friend and special event organizers.

Dr. Hennesy received his master’s degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield, Missouri and continued his education at Erskine Seminary in Due West, South Carolina where he earned a doctor of ministry degree.  For nineteen years James served as President of Southeastern College in Lakeland FL. 

Doctor Hennesy and Margie are the proud parents of two sons; Jim and Mark and grandparents of Ross, Ryan, Katlyn, Ben, Joshua and Kristin.


Scott Jandik, Minister High School

As the High School Pastor, Scott has a passion for high school students to grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.  He oversees all preparation and delivery of High Definition Sunday School classes, leads the development and organization of Life Groups and coordinates with the Youth Staff to produce Student Ministry events such as Fine Arts, Camp, Hellhouse, etc.  His primary focus is to insure students are growing and are connected to the ministry but, more importantly, connected to God.     

Scott Jandik grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with his family of five.  He has one brother and one sister both of which are married.  When he graduated High School, he moved to Malvern, Arkansas to attend Master's Commission.  After completing the three years of schooling in Master's Commission, he served on staff with the program.  In October of 2004, Scott came to Trinity Church to assist with the High School student ministry.  He was appointed High School Pastor in November of 2005.  Since he has been at Trinity, he married his wife Amanda in June of 2005.


Robert Madu, Evangelist

One of the premier voices that is being raised up to proclaim God's infallible Word, is that of Evangelist Robert Madu II. Robert felt the call of God on his life to minister at the age of thirteen. After which, the Lord began using him strategically in his local Church, specifically in the area of drama. In 2001 Robert was awarded first place in the nation during a National Fine Arts Drama Solo Competition. Upon winning this award, he was blessed by the Lord to receive a full year tuition scholarship to Southwestern Assemblies of God Bible University. 

It was at the age of seventeen that Robert strongly felt God calling him to preach the gospel. Since then God has opened up a plethora of opportunities for him to minister to several Churches, Youth Groups, and Schools across this nation through dynamic preaching and drama. Robert's ability to minister to people of all races, cultures, and generations has made him a commanding and captivating communicator.  

It is Robert's passion and desire to see all people, both young and old come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to see them become empowered to do all that God has called them to do.


Lisa Swayze, Minister Prayer

Lisa leads the prayer ministry at Trinity Church.  Her vision is to see prayer become a lifestyle, not just an event.  Lisa oversees over 40 groups called TCells that meet at least once a month at the Tuesday night Prophetic prayer meetings.  She has designed and set in place "The Pathway to Freedom", incorporating a combination of deliverance appointments and classes designed to help change victims into mighty warriors.  Lisa also oversees the dicipleship of new believers through "SBasic Training" classes and small groups. Her mantra is "Get equipped. Be prepared, Fulfill your mission!"

Lisa was raised in Southeastern Oklahoma.  She was saved in 1977 and began ministry in 1979.  Lisa traveled for several years as an evangelist.  In 1981 she attended Southwestern Assembly of God University where she met and married Wallace Swayze.  She worked as a youth and Associate pastor in the Dallas area for nine years and as senior pastor for eight years.

Lisa and Wallace live in Cedar Hill and have two children.
