With over 30 years pastoral ministry experience, Jim Hennesy is primary presenter of the preaching / teaching ministry and chief steward of God’s vision for Trinity Church. He serves the city of Cedar Hill as a board member of Transformation Vision Cedar Hill, a coalition of business, education, government and churches committed to enacting God’s principles in the fiber and relationships of the region.
Jim focuses on four Core Values: Substance, Covenant Relationships, Legacy, and Marketplace. Jim states, “The value of people to God cannot be overstated. This is why our motto is ‘People are the Purpose.’ Regardless of race, background, age, or social class, God’s heart always moves toward the people for whom Jesus died. It is the goal of Trinity to love people!”
Jim, a graduate of Central Bible College, Springfield, MO, and his wife Becky arrived at Trinity Church in November 1994 from St. Petersburg, Florida, where they served as Senior Pastor for almost a decade.
Pastor Becky, a gifted teacher and leader, oversees “Women of Worth” (WOW) women’s ministry. Her mission is for WOW to be a vehicle of transformation in the community, the marketplace and beyond. Most recently renowned is the Christian gathering launched in 2006 called “Girlfriends”. Welcomed with enthusiasm by women of all generations, ethnicities and backgrounds, “Girlfriends” has grown from an attendance of 250 to over 1000.
Jim and Becky (married 31 years) have three children: Ross, a graduate of Texas Tech University, is the director of the Quaker Voluntary Service in Philadelphia; Ryan, a graduate of Southwestern University, and his wife Julia are on staff here at Trinity; and Katelyn is a graduate of Oral Roberts University. The Hennesys also count as a family member their dog Chewbacca, a chow mix and guardian of the homestead, and "the other dog," Gypsy.
